Kousa Dogwood Tree

The kousa dogwood tree is a beautiful landscape tree that provides year-round beauty. The tree has bright white flowers that bloom from May to June. It also produces a drupe, which is pinkish red and is an attractive food for songbirds. The leaves are 2 - 4 inches long and are dark green. Squirrels and birds can eat Kousa dogwood seeds. The tree is native to Japan, Korea, and China. It was first documented in the United States in 1875. The tree's growth is slow to medium, taking many years to reach maturity.
