Purple Crepe Myrtle - Lagerstroemia indica

Purple Crepe Myrtle is known for its vibrant, crepe-papery petals, these plants are just as lovely even when leafless during the winter due to an attractively smooth, grey bark and ornamental branches, offering year-round landscape appeal. As dependable as they are elegant, once established they have excellent heat, humidity, and drought tolerance, so they thrive in warm, sunny climates. These trees should be planted in slightly acidic soil, but are most receptive to all soil types. It is best for the ground to be moist and well drained. Some care should be taken in saline conditions as well as these plants have low salt tolerance.
